HOWTO minimize Gaim to system tray on Gnome

I like to have gaim minimize to the tray
rather than quit when I click on the "close"
button on the menu bar. (This is the default
behavior on Windows, for example).

(1) Adding a "system tray" to GNOME.
Right-click the taskbar on which you would like
to place the "system tray". Select:
	Add to Panel -> Utility -> Notification Area

Gnome calls its "system tray" a notification area.

(2) Configuring gaim to minimize to "system tray".
	a. Select:
	Tools -> Preferences
	b. Highlight the "Plugins" option in the left menu.
	c. Check "System Tray Icon" plugin from the "Plugins" list.
